But away from the city, his heart was always with the farming community, where his family spent weekends and holidays. His father’s dream was to retire on the farm, and it was there that Leon developed a deep respect for rural life—and an awareness of the challenges it faced.

One of the most pressing needs he noticed was access to affordable water. Quality water pumps were prohibitively expensive for small-scale farmers, and Leon knew there had to be a better way. What started as a simple solution for his own family—importing a pump to keep their farm running—quickly expanded. Soon, neighbors were asking for pumps, and then neighbors of neighbors.

What began with five pumps a month grew into thousands. Leon founded his business on the belief that “affordable does not mean cheap”—a principle that still defines his work today.
